A 4 page, print-ready summary of important information you need to know to design steel connections.

I built this because connections were the thing I felt least prepared for when I started out. Uni barely touches on them, and then you're suddenly expected to detail a portal frame knee connection on a live project with zero reference material.

So I put together the cheat sheet I wish I'd had.

Inside you'll find:

Bolts - sizes, strength grades, shear and tension capacity formulas, and which cross-sectional area to use and when.

Plates - grades, thicknesses, bearing and tearing checks with worked examples.

Detailing - bolt spacing, edge distances, and standard hole oversizing so you're not guessing on drawings.

Welds - fillet and full penetration butt welds explained, common sizes and qualities, and example calculations.

Everything is referenced against AS4100 and laid out so you can pin it up next to your desk or keep it open while you're checking a connection.

Hopefully it saves you the same headaches it's saved me.

P.S. This can be downloaded for free by entering $0 into the cost section, but if you find value in it, a payment reflecting its worth to you would be much appreciated.
